Evelyne, the young wife of a Swiss lawyer falls in love with Remy, a charming Parisian she met during a holiday in Italy. She joins her lover in the French capital, where she experiences moments of intense passion with him. Determined to confess her adultery, Evelyne returns to her husband but fate has a tragic ending in store for her.
