From John Ford's tragedy Too bad she's a tramp. Giovanni loves his sister Annabella (this is Renaissance Italy). The incestuous relationship is interrupted by Annabella's marriage to the nobleman Soranzo. The latter discovers his wife's history and claims revenge.
